Bonus content for Message in a Haunted Mansion (MHM)!
Fun Facts:
This game is made at a resolution of 640×480 pixels.
You can left-click (single click) on the diamond scroll bar, while in conversation or in the inventory (for games 1-9) to move the scroll bar down, and right-click (single click) on the scroll bar to move the scroll bar up. This is an alternative to clicking-and-dragging the bar.
When this game released, it was also launched in retail box stores along with the previous two titles. It was because of this action that many of the Nancy Drew gamers bought and played Message in the Haunted Mansion as their first introduction to the series.
Five minutes in real-world time is equivalent to one hour of in-game time. One minute and 15 seconds in real-time is equivalent to 15 minutes in-game time.
Depending on when you set your alarm clock, Nancy will wake up with different comments:

- 6:00 am – 10:00 am *Yawn “Mornin’ Nancy!”
- 11:00 am – 1:00 pm (No comments)
- 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm “Must be the jet lag that’s making me so sleepy.”
- 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm (No comments)
Easter Eggs – Discoveries
- The bronze horse statue on the bookshelf in the library was a model used previously in Stay Tuned for Danger. It was located on the sound stage on a table near the couch.
- Louis’s last name, Chandler, means “a person who makes and sells candles” and is fitting for how Louis is confronted about his suspicions.
- The HeR Interactive logo is seen on Rose’s red mug found on the dining table:
- There are two sets of twisted candles in the dining room, a nod to the Nancy Drew book “The Sign of the Twisted Candles.”
- The official acronym for Message in a Haunted Mansion (MHM) is seen in small font at the top left of the torn music sheet:
- When playing the maze game on Louis’s laptop in the library, you can tap the M key on your keyboard to bring up the bird’s eye view of the map. Your position is marked by the green dot.
- In Abby’s room on her table is a magazine with the story of Mattie Jensen, from the previous game, Stay Tuned for Danger.
- In this same scene is a book on Fortune Telling, by Her Interactive publishing, a nod to the company name.
