In Nancy Drew: Shadow at the Water’s Edge, Nancy can snoop the front desk after 1:00am. However, in order to find the computer password, you’ll need to open the puzzle box, which Suki is guarding. Call Bess and George and ask about the robotic cat. George will mention that it is in guard mode and will look around the convention for information.
[Jump to 2:17 to watch all the Suki commands].
Wait 10 minutes in real-world time for the phone call from George. She will say that she met the creator of the robotic cats but will only give away the code words if she can solve his master sudoku puzzle. George will drop it off at the Ryokan for you to solve since George is too busy to work on it.
Change the clock to a time when Miwako is present at the front desk (7:00pm to 1:00am). Wait another 10 minutes or so in real-world time (trying busying yourself with another task). Then re-enter the lobby and Miwako will have a delivery for you: open the envelope and solve the master sudoku puzzle, then place it in an envelope from your bedroom folder and drop it off with Miwako.
Call Bess and George about the delivery of the master sudoku puzzle. (If you don’t call, they will call you in 25 minutes, real-world time).
Your friends will share all the commands for Suki.
Step up to Suki when Miwako is gone (1:00am) and start with the first command to tame her: Mate. You will then be able to snoop the puzzle box without getting swiped.
Here are all the commands and their meanings:
Mate: Off guard
Tate: stand and beg
Omawari: One-paw stand
Booru wa: Hairball
Shizukani: Peek-a-boo
In the special edition of the game, there are two extra tricks you can command Suki:
Totte koi: Chase tail in a circle
Oyatsu: Dance pose
