HeR Interactive’s second Dossier game for PC based on the classic female detective, Nancy Drew! Nancy Drew®: Dossier: Resorting to Danger! released August, 2009, to PC. It is available for digital download on herinteractive.com, Amazon.com (affiliate link), and Steam.

Defuse an Explosive Situation at an Exclusive Resort!
You, as Nancy Drew, must stop a bomber from ruining the Redondo Spa clients’ rejuvenation and relaxation. The high maintenance clients won’t be happy if they find that their retreat is about to explode, even if the bombs are more prankster gross-outs than dangerous.
Now, Nancy Drew is undercover as the spa gopher catering to the customers’ eccentric requests while defusing bombs. From celebrities who escape here to the receptionist at the front desk—everyone is a suspect! Who is sabotaging the spa and can Nancy catch the culprit before the spa loses all of its clients in Nancy Drew Dossier: Resorting to Danger?

This Dossier series was meant to be a casual, “Fast fun for busy detectives” hidden object and puzzle game. The environments are 2D illustrations with lightly animated 3D characters. The story is linear, but the ending varies each time you play the game.

This game was bundled with the first Dossier game, Lights, Camera, Curses!
At the end of the game, a teaser for the next game is shown; Nancy Drew Dossier: Ship of Shadows. This box art was also featured on the back of the physical box for Resorting to Danger. Unfortunately, Ship of Shadows, the third installment to the series, was shelved mid-production. My personal speculation is that sales were not as great for this series as the core mystery adventure series, and the company was hit financially hit due to the 2008 era recession. Depending who was asked, former team members say it was anywhere from 25-50% completed.
