In Nancy Drew: Midnight in Salem, Nancy helps the Hardy boys with breakfast. To make Johnny Cakes, you’ll need to use the measurements but guess which ingredients get each amount. Click on each ingredient for Nancy to identify it and click to release you grasp on it. Click on the cups or spoons to understand the amounts, then match the measuring tool to the ingredient. Lastly, click on the bowl to add the ingredient. Use the sponge to scrub out the bowl to start over if you mess up. You will get positive and negative comments from your friends if the measurements or right or wrong.
Dry Ingredients:
- 1 cup of cornmeal
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 tablespoon of sugar (done twice so it’s actually 2 tablespoons)
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of salt
Wet Ingredients:
- One part milk (8 oz)
- 2 eggs
- One part butter (0.5 oz)
- 2 parts vanilla (each is 0.1 oz, and you need 0.2 oz total)
- A dash of nutmeg
Click on the whisk to mix the batter.
Flipping the cakes: Wait until a cake steams, then flip it. If you flip too early or burn them, they will go to the plate up above. If the cake is correctly cooked, it will stack on the plate immediately to the right of the pan. The amount you need to get right is shown at the right of your screen. The amount of batter servings you have left (that Joe is pouring) is shown at the measuring cup icon to the left of the screen.
