In Nancy Drew: Sea of Darkness, Nancy discovers and old locked box on board the ship, in a hidden room. On the right side of the box is a puzzle where you must place one of every symbol on each row and column.
Larger symbols can cover over smaller symbols and filled symbols can cover over hollow symbols. When one of the blue lights on the top or side of the grid is lit, that means you have one of each symbol in that row or column.
Amateur Sleuth Clues:
Start with the largest symbol: the yellow moon circle. It can only cover the yellow moon spaces already shown on the board.
Next, take a look at the second largest symbol, the blue diamond (filled), which must cover over the three filled diamonds already on the board, but you must figure out where the fourth can go. Hint: it must cover a hollow diamond.
