The Gardens Between by Australian studio The Voxel Agents, released in September 2018 for Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is a beautiful and ambient game with no voice overs for the characters, but includes an amazing soundtrack and visuals. You play as two friends who dive into their memories of their time spent together on the eve of one friend moving away. It is a bittersweet story, but both kids must work together moving forward and backward, activating things to capture memories (lights) and reach the top of the island height in each level. The time period appears to be set in the 1980s, as it showcases many nostalgic things from that era.
