HeR Interactive’s 8th installment to their PC/Mac Mystery Adventure games based on the classic female detective, Nancy Drew! The Haunted Carousel released in July, 2003. The PC game is available on herinteractive.com, Steam, and Amazon.com (affiliate link) as digital downloads.
To quote the game description from HeR Interactive, here’s what the mystery game is about;
Take a Spin with Danger to Unravel the Mystery of a Ghostly Merry-go-Round! You, as Nancy Drew, are invited to the Jersey shore to investigate a series of mishaps at the Captain’s Cove Amusement Park. First, the lead horse was stolen from the carousel. Then the roller coaster suddenly lost power, resulting in a serious accident. Now the merry-go-round is mysteriously starting up in the middle of the night. Will you be able to unravel the mysterious happenings surrounding this beautiful antique carousel in Nancy Drew: The Haunted Carousel?

This game was built on a proprietary engine internally, by HeR Interactive. It is loosely based on the book by the same name.
Set in New Jersey, Nancy is called in by Paula Santos to investigate the “cursed” carousel, which turns on by itself. The theme park, Captain’s Cove Amusement Park, is currently closed so that investigations can be made on the accidents that occurred with the Roller Coaster, as well as the carousel.
This mystery game is very exploratory – with few chores or ‘tasks’ the player has to accomplish. Player helps characters with varying tasks in exchange for access to different areas, gain knowledge on the equipment, and more. This is perhaps the lightest, most kid-friendly Nancy Drew in the core mystery adventure series by HeR Interactive.
