Bento Puzzles

In Nancy Drew: Shadow at the Water’s Edge, Nancy must help Yumi with a Bento order. You can solve Bento in 10 different ways on each level of difficulty (Junior or Senior Detective). The guide to solving Bento the original puzzle way is located by clicking on the question mark on the screen. It explains how to place each animal and food. Your goal is to logically place each Bento in the 9×9 grid.

The normal way to solve Bento is by imagining all the clues overlapping so that the logic accommodates all the egg, sandwich and rice animals.

However, you can solve Bento in a different, just as complicated way. Since the ANIMALS are randomized in every single puzzle that you approach, there is no definitive answer to give. I present a guide for the tutorial to solve with the available clues.

Use the ten puzzle answers+clues to identify which one of the random ten puzzles you have. Look for the matching style of CLUES in the tray, and you’ll have your answer. Will your first Bento puzzle after the tutorial be puzzle 3? Perhaps 7? It’s randomized! You’ll have to identify the correct solution, first, based on what appears in your game.

Then, try to figure out which animals are A, B, or C, and which foods are 1, 2, and 3. Label your Bentos, then put them in the Bento grid.
