Dr. Elisabeth Hirst has only made one appearance in the Nancy Drew games to date: Midnight in Salem. As the first contact in the game, she is the main reference and source on the history of the Witch Trials of Salem, MA in the US, as well as in Europe. She works in Austria at Moosham (pronounced MOW-sam) castle. A young historian with an American accent, she is played by voice-over artist Melissa Mabie, who also voiced the ghost in the same game.
Nancy is put in contact with Dr. Hirst via her father, Carson Drew, who sends her to Moosham Castle to request her help in retrieving a book that would help his colleague in Salem, MA, on a case.
Later, when Nancy travels to Salem, MA, she can call Dr. Hirst on the phone to ask additional questions throughout the mystery.
Dr. Hirst’s phone avatar is of Moosham Castle, and her physical appearance is not seen in full, but rather as a dark silhouette half hidden behind the door of the castle archive room where Nancy gets to explore. Elisabeth is a bit superstitious and is hesitant about entering that particular room of the castle.
