Favorite Things

Hoody’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Mix

One of my favorite snacks that my husband discovered at Costco is also available on Amazon!

Heated Socks

These battery-operated heated socks with pockets for the batteries are AMAZING. I used them every day, and the batteries are rechargeable and last for HOURS before needing a recharge. Since there are wires in the lining, I recommend wearing your regular socks underneath so that you do not need to wash the heated socks.

Mystery at Magnolia Gardens

This table-top mystery game came out in 2021 by Hunt a Killer. They made this Nancy Drew themed mystery that includes a lot of reading through fun documents, deciphering clues, puzzle solving, and contains an envelope of the spoilers. This is a fun, passive activity that can be enjoyed one or more people at a time. Click here to check out my wiki page, including my unboxing video!

My Gear

Capture Card – Elgato HD60 S

My first gaming capture card, I use this Elgato to connect my Nintendo Switch to my PC. It works fantastic! I hope to use it for other console gaming when I pause my playthroughs of Animal Crossing: New Horizons and decide to play other console games. There are newer, better models of Elgato right now (like the HD60 S+), but this is the one I am still using. Please note: I also use the free software 4k Capture Utility from the Elgato site here for viewing on my desktop monitor, which also serves as the software that connects the Elgato hardware to my Windows operating system. It is necessary to have this.

Capture Card – Elgato Cam Link 4K

A gift from my husband, this capture card is used for my Blackmagic camera. Since the Blackmagic can record in 4k, a 4k capture card is necessary for using the camera as a webcam.

Microphone – The Blue Yeti

This is the microphone I use for all my streams and voice-overs. It’s USB but also has an XLR output. Set up is easy after watching a tutorial, especially considering I am not audio-savvy at all.

Webcam – Logitech 1080p

This webcam was used for most of my early videos, and then used as a Cat Camera. It’s easy to use and is quick to be picked up by any application. Unfortunately, like many webcams, I cannot adjust the ISO, aperture or lighting settings. It’s really just a plug-and-go webcam. I highly recommend this for easy, everyday, anybody use.

Shure Headphones – Model SRH840

I love the sound with these headphones! This is a really high quality product which is super comfortable. I’ve been using this set for years!

Camera – Blackmagic Cinema Camera 4k

This was a Christmas gift to me by my husband. It’s a magnificent camera with stunning visuals. It performs best as a film camera, and works well as a webcam, but the amazing visuals do not convert as great on the computer as it does in the field. It’s still amazing, though! The camera works very well with my PC and with OBS (Open Broadcaster System) for recording my gameplays and tutorial videos. PLEASE note: it does not come with a lens – you will need to purchase that separately.

Camera Mount – Smallrig Cage

This is the frame that my Blackmagic camera is mounted to, which then sits on top of a tripod. It fits the camera perfectly without impeding any buttons, and adds mounting options for additional accessories, like a flash, external microphone or more!
