Fun Facts
The BONUS Edition of the game (BONUS Edition was available during HeR Interactive’s pre-order period) included these extra features:

- Sonny Joon’s journal to find and read
- Extra entries to read in Soren’s tablet in the gift shop
The actress (Billie Wildrick) who voices the character Elisabet also sang the end-credits song “The Word I Couldn’t Keep,” an original song written by writer Katie Chironis, who also wrote the script for the game.
A HeR Interactive employee of Dutch descent provided the Dutch name for the ship; the Heerlijkheid, which means “glory.”
A HeR Interactive artist voiced the character of Burt, Ned’s college friend and roommate.

Easter Eggs
There are three physical Easter Eggs you can earn or find in the game (actual decorative eggs to add to your inventory.) The fourth was only included in the BONUS Edition of the game. See the video below for reference.
Egg 1: In the wheelhouse, open and close the chair arm compartment 13 before exiting the area. Egg = Red with Christmas lights design.
Egg 2: In the Captain’s quarters, at the box with triangles, press the buttons in order to get the inner three lighter triangles up and all others are down. Egg = the glass and woven base design, like the beverage on the shelf behind it.
Egg 3: While filling food orders at the pub, fill all trays with puffins (when puffins are available). Then head over to the instrument display and find the egg on the cello. Egg = the stage and pub design.
Egg 4: This egg is only acquired in the BONUS Edition of the game. Follow specific directions (see in video below) and use the fish hook to chip away the ice at the base of a wall. Egg = blue and green XII design.

- (The artist designed this after the Seattle Seahawks football team. The XII represents “the 12th man” which means the fans, and the numbers lining the top and bottom are the jersey/player numbers of the team members who played in the 2014 Superbowl.)
Fun finds in the game (non-physical Easter Eggs):
- Mel Corbalis’s name is mentioned on a music poster in the pub. Mel is the cello player in Warnings at Waverly Academy.
- Moira Chisolm’s name is written in Dagny’s book in her luggage. Moira is the one who recommended Nancy to Dagny, and Moira was a character in The Silent Spy.
Achievements – Meta Awards – Trophies
The trophies (meta game awards) can be achieved by doing the following in the list below. Any players who play the game on the same computer will add to and share the collection of trophies. (Meaning if a person plays through SEA and only gets 3 trophies, a sibling who is also playing on the same computer can earn different trophies but share in the trophy collection together.)
- Egged: Finding a hidden surprise (finding at least one egg)
- High Seas Captain: Piloting your own boat (taking out the dinghy 20+ times)
- Keepsake Kitsch: Buying the souvenirs (all of them)
- Linguist: For learning your vocabulary (playing puffin vocabulary 11+ times)
- Lookout: Keeping an eye on the ground below (climbing the crow’s nest 11+ times)
- Receptionist: Screening all the calls (listening to all messages on the cabin phone machine)
- Relationship Guru: For expressing your true feelings (telling Ned you love him)
- Short Order Cook: Fulfilling the orders (filling 15+ food orders)
- Spelunker: Exploring all ends of the ice caves
- Spoiler Free: For not using any spoilers
- Tidal Master: Taking advantage of the tides (changing the tides/time 14 or more times)
- Trivia Tamer: Correctly answering the trivia question
- Charmed – BONUS Edition game only. If you find all seven phone charms
Phone Charms
The in-game phone charms can be found throughout the mystery as part of the BONUS Edition of Sea of Darkness. Here is where they can be found:
- White daisy flower: Fish cleaning station outside
- Puffin: In the museum/gift shop, on Dagny’s luggage
- Canon: Ship’s hold, near the flashlight on some boxes
- Yellow vehicle: In the pub closet
- Treasure Chest: In the Captain’s Quarters, on the bed
- Norse Axe: In the ice caves, taking the ladder down to the dead-end room, hanging from above
- Viking helmet: On the lamp in the opening letter (your only chance to get this one is at the opening desk scene.)
Extra Tricks and Tips
- If you use any Easter Egg on an item in the gift shop (excludes the sword, batteries, and book) you will lose the egg but get that shop item for free.
