This game is made at a resolution of 640×480 pixels.
You can left-click (single click) on the diamond scroll bar, while in conversation or in the inventory (for games 1-9) to move the scroll bar down, and right-click (single click) on the scroll bar to move the scroll bar up. This is an alternative to clicking-and-dragging the bar.
The voice actress for Maya was left uncredited for privacy. She was the wife of artist John Hayashi.
Easter Eggs – Discoveries
- If you call the Library of Congress before you see their phone number in the pamphlet, you will will be presented with options to play different soundtracks for the game. A list will appear with the numbers to activate each track. The number is 1-202-555-5000.
- If you read the first four letters of Maya’s name Maya N, it says “Mayan”. This is the first clue to the next Nancy Drew game: Secret of the Scarlet Hand. The second clue is seen at the end game letter scene of a tabloid, featuring a scarlet red handprint. Secret of the Scarlet Hand shares a title with the book it is based on and is about a museum featuring the Mayan culture. At least two members of the HeR Interactive, Inc. message boards caught on to these clues very early on and guessed the next game correctly: Manon and Solver, and were honored in the following game, Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake.
- The HeR Interactive logo is found on a mug, located in the women’s dressing room.
