The Nancy Drew mystery stories series is the first series of Nancy Drew books ever created. Most commonly recognized in the revised yellow hardcover form, the books were originally blue soft covers with an illustrated dust jacket.

History

Edward B. Stratemeyer of the Stratemeyer Syndicate had already created mystery adventure books for boys (The Hardy Boys) and mystery books for kids (The Bobbsey Twins). He hired a team of ghost writers who all wrote the Nancy Drew mystery stories under the pseudonym Carolyn Keene. The first three titles were released April 28th, 1930 in a blue softcover with an illustrated dust jacket.
