HeR Interactive’s 29th installment to their PC/Mac Mystery Adventure games based on the classic female detective, Nancy Drew! The Silent Spy released on October 22nd, 2013. The PC and Mac game is available on herinteractive.com, Amazon.com (affiliate link), and Steam as digital downloads.

Nearly a decade ago Agent Kate Drew left home to neutralize a biochemical weapon in Scotland. While her assignment was a success, Kate died in a car accident; or so we were told. Now the echoes of a similar plot reverberate and it’s up to you, as detective Nancy Drew, to thwart the sleeper cell and expose the truth about your mother’s tragic demise.

This game was built on a proprietary engine internally, by HeR Interactive. It uses references from the book Nancy Drew #41: The Clue of the Whistling Bagpipes.
Set in Glasgow, Scotland, and surrounding areas, Nancy is lured in by an anonymous source, teasing information about her mom. Nancy follows the lead and meets up with her mom’s old spy organization, Cathedral. A terrorist organization wants information that Kate hid, and presume Nancy knows something about it.
This mystery game is very puzzle-heavy and rich in story. Several cutscenes show Katherine (Kate) Drew just before she left and was then later killed. The entire mystery takes place in the daytime.
Other features:
This game was the first instance of all the Nancy Drew canon that Nancy’s mom’s name is mentioned. HeR Interactive created the name since all the info on her was that she was of Scottish heritage and her maiden name was Austin.
The original Nancy Drew books have conflicting ages for when Nancy’s mom dies. The more popularly-known age is when Nancy was three, but some books state Nancy was 10 years old. The Silent Spy uses the age of 10 so that Nancy can have some important memories to turn back to for using in the mystery.
